Dr. Kerry Reeves, O.D.

Dr. Kerry Reeves brings a patient-first approach and over two decades of clinical experience to Advanced Eyecare Myrtle Beach. A native of Thomaston, Georgia, Dr. Reeves earned his B.S. in Biology from North Georgia State College and went on to complete his Doctor of Optometry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

After graduating, Dr. Reeves became a senior partner in a high-volume practice in Hickory, North Carolina, where he served for ten years. His clinical experience spans everything from primary care optometry to specialty contact lens fittings and dry eye treatment.

In 2009, Dr. Reeves and his family relocated to Haiti to serve as full-time medical missionaries. Their work there included founding an orphanage, launching multiple eye care clinics, starting school sponsorship and feeding programs, and building out long-term community development efforts.

After returning to the U.S. in 2012 to support their growing children, Dr. Reeves continued practicing optometry in a cataract and corneal specialty clinic in Georgia. During this time, he also served as interim pastor for Byne Memorial Baptist Church.

In 2018, Dr. Reeves joined the Advanced Eye Care team in Fayetteville, North Carolina, before expanding to Myrtle Beach in 2025. His clinical focus includes dry eye care, contact lens fittings (including hard-to-fit cases), and helping patients manage the impact of screen time on their vision. He’s proud to care for patients of all ages — and even prouder to now do it in a community his family calls home.
